  • McMullin, an independent, ran in the 2016 presidential contest as third-party candidate. He’s challenging incumbent Utah GOP Sen. Mike Lee.
  • Incident occurred in April when motorist followed McMullins’ vehicle after campaign event, court documents also show.
  • “Followed, chased and threatened at gunpoint” by 44-year-old man driving large pickup, also according to documents state
