- Fired CNN anchor Don Lemon gave an exclusive interview to a local Memphis, Tennessee, TV station Saturday in which he said about his ouster: “I have a responsibility not only as a journalist but as an American to tell the truth and to abide by the promises of the Constitution. Because the Constitution says a more perfect union, not a perfect union. I’m not a perfect person. No one is.”
- Lemon acknowledged in April the cable TV news network had fired him after 17 years.
- Lemon had a series of on-air comments and confrontations before his ouster including saying about 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s age: “Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry.”
