• U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., made it clear where his loyalties lie in the 2024 Republican presidential primary while warming up the crowd in Waco, Texas for Donald Trump.
• Sporting a fire-red blazer, Gaetz stressed that Trump played a key role in the success of Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and called on the two Republican heavyweights to endorse the former president.
• “Only Donald Trump could have rescued us from Hillary Clinton,” Gaetz said. “Without Trump doing three rallies in the final week in the 2018 election in Florida, my governor today would probably be Andrew Gillum. How weird is that? And without Trump dragging Ted Cruz across the finish line, your senator would probably be beta-Beto.”
