Matt Napolitano, Fox News Audio And Sports Reporter, Dead At 33

Matt Napolitano, an audio producer and reporter at Fox News, has passed away at the young age of 33. Napolitano had been battling an autoimmune disease for almost 20 years, and ultimately died from an infection. His husband, Ricky Whitcomb, announced the sad news on Christmas Eve via social media.

Napolitano first joined Fox News in 2015, where he worked as a writer for the SiriusXM channel Fox News Headlines 24/7. Although he briefly left the network, he eventually returned and worked as an anchor and reporter on various shows.

During his time at Fox, Napolitano worked on “Cavuto Coast to Coast” on Fox Business Network and also produced content for the Fox News Edge service, providing stories to local Fox outlets throughout the country.

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott expressed her condolences in a memo to employees, writing, “Matt did everything from anchoring to writing and producing for our audio platforms and loved being able to work in the journalism field that he trained for his entire life”. Scott also praised him for his strong work ethic and commitment to reporting the facts.

Napolitano’s passion for media extended beyond his work at Fox News. He was known to be a huge game show fan, even appearing on “Wheel of Fortune” in 2016 and “Jeopardy!” in 2020. Speaking to the Long Island Herald in June 2020 about his experience on Wheel of Fortune, Napolitano said, “I hope I did the hometown proud, because it wasn’t easy up there.”

Napolitano was a resident of Franklin Square and was admired by many for his dedication to journalism and his constant pursuit of the truth. His loss will be felt deeply by his colleagues and fans alike. His contributions to the industry will not be forgotten.
