- Richard Harvey, a 74-year-old Michigan resident, appears headed for trial after shooting Joan Jacobson, an 83-year-old Right to Life of Michigan volunteer on Sept. 20.
- In a preliminary hearing in Ionia County District Court, parts of the 911 call were played as Harvey sat next to his attorney.
- Harvey claimed “I didn’t shoot her on purpose,” but Jacobson contends that the shooting was intentional.

Jacobson drove herself to Lake Odessa Police Department after she was shot in the shoulder, and was transferred to a Grand Rapids hospital, where she was treated and released.
