A migrant attempting to cross the Colorado River into the United States utilizing scuba gear under the cover of darkness was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents this week.
The incident took place in the Yuma sector on Monday, where the man was intercepted. Photographs reveal the individual wearing a compact oxygen tank secured over what appears to be jeans and a long-sleeved shirt. Acting Chief Patrol Agent Dustin Caudle confirmed that the migrant will be repatriated to Mexico.
“A migrant believed he could clandestinely enter the U.S. by employing scuba diving equipment to navigate the Colorado River, but our vigilant agents foiled his plan. The migrant, identified as a Mexican national, will undergo processing for repatriation to Mexico,” Caudle announced on Twitter.
