The Navy on Monday released the names of the two SEALs who died on a recent mission on the Arabian Sea, with details  about how they died emerging.

The special forces members died off the coast of Somalia, as members of the Navy’s SEAL Team 3, on the night of Jan. 11 when they began to climb aboard an un-flagged ship that was carrying illicit Iranian-made weapons to Yemen.

One of the the members has been identified as Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram.

He fell when climbing the ladder onto the boat. He slipped, falling into a gap the waves had created between the vessel and the SEALs’ combatant craft, officials familiar with the incident told the Associated Press.

Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers jumped into the gap to try to save Ingram, according to U.S. officials familiar with the incident, they also told the wire service.
