• President Joe Biden took in a girls’ camogie match while traveling in Ireland – and he almost got more than he bargained for when an errant ball sailed off the field and right past his head.
• Camogie is a team sport played with a ball and sticks that vaguely resembles field hockey or lacrosse — and Biden stood alongside Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) Leo Varadkar at the edge of the field near one goal, chatting as the girls from St Brigid’s GAA Club showed off their skills.
• But then a ball — called a sliotar – got away from the girls and flew by the president’s head, just over his left shoulder.
