New Variant Dubbed ‘Centaurus’ Detected In 10 Countries, Including US’

  • A new subvariant of COVID-19 has arrived in 10 countries including the UK and US – but experts have given little indication of its severity.
  • BA.2.75, nicknamed Centaurus, was first detected and is spreading rapidly in India.
  • It is a relative of Omicon, itself a strain of the original virus that has shown to be a more mild illness.
