Noem Leads Charge Against Encroaching China

- South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem is creating a model for states eager to rein in China’s creeping influence across the United States even when the Biden administration fails to act.
- Norm led a crackdown on TikTok because “the Chinese government and the CCP is using the information they’re gathering … to threaten” the U.S.
- At least four states – Texas, Maryland, Oklahoma and Tennessee — followed Noem’s lead with similar acts last week.
- Noem is also looking at ways to stall China from renting farmland in her state after recent revelations that Beijing has bought up farmland across the United States, including near a U.S. military base in neighboring North Dakota.
