North Korea Hackers Steal Crypto From US Tech Firm

  • According to a statement released by the IT management company JumpCloud, a North Korean government-backed hacking group successfully infiltrated their systems in late June.
  • The hackers then utilized this access to target a select number of JumpCloud’s clients, which the company mentioned was “fewer than 5” in a recent blog post.
  • JumpCloud did not disclose the identities of the affected customers in their statement. However, cybersecurity firms CrowdStrike Holdings, providing assistance to JumpCloud, and Alphabet-owned Mandiant, aiding one of JumpCloud’s clients, both indicated that the hacking group involved is known for its focus on cryptocurrency theft.
