Actor Scott Baio, best known for his role as Chachi in “Happy Days,” announced on Wednesday that he is leaving California due to the state’s homeless crisis.

Baio shared concerning statistics on homelessness in a tweet, stating that a recent survey conducted by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority found approximately 69,000 people experiencing homelessness in L.A. County and 41,000 in the city in 2022.

He blamed the state’s soft-on-crime initiatives for the homelessness issues, claiming that it brings down property values and that after decades of living in California, “it’s just not a safe place anymore.”
