Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman is ripping the idea of “squatter’s rights,” he told The New York Post on Friday “Squatters have no rights.”
Fetterman said he dealt with squatters and squatting when he was a mayor.
“How can you even pretend that this is anything other than you’re just breaking the law?” he said. “I am not woke.”
He also said: It’s wild, that if you go away on a long trip, for 30 days, and someone breaks into your home and suddenly they have rights. This is crazy. Like if somebody stole your car, and then they held it for 30 days, then somehow you now have some rights?”
The freshman senator has also called himself a “progressive” but in recent months has also distanced himself from that wing of his party.
