- On Tuesday, nationwide protests and strikes against unpopular pension reforms reignited in France, with increased police security amid government warnings that radical demonstrators plan “to destroy, to injure and to kill.”
- Concerns that the demonstrations could spur violence resulted in what Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin described as an unprecedented deployment of 13,000 officers, with almost half of them assigned to the French capital.
