California Rep. Katie Porter was considered a rising start in Democrat politics, but her third place finish Super Tuesday in the state competition for an open Senate seat leaves her out office come next January.

Porter could try for another elected office in the near future, like state governor, or work in the Biden administration should he win reelection but for now she has no elected office after December. She resigned her seat last year to run for Senate.

Porter gained in popularity among voters and Democrat leaders largely her viral white board presentations at congressional hearings and her social media game.

She has blame her third-place finish on an election “rigged” by big money.
