Psaki Wants Hunter Biden To Stop Talking In Public

MSNBC host Jen Psaki expressed on Sunday that Hunter Biden’s public appearances were not aiding his father’s case, suggesting that the White House wished for the president’s son to “stop talking in public.”

When NBC’s Kristen Welker inquired about Hunter Biden’s “surprise press conference” on Wednesday, Psaki, who previously served as President Biden’s first press secretary, commented on the potential impact.

Psaki noted, “If you’re sitting in the White House right now, you’re like ‘Please, Hunter Biden, we know your dad loves you. Please stop talking in public.'” She added that Hunter’s public statements were not beneficial and that the White House would “probably like him to go away right now,” even though the president prioritizes his love for his son over other considerations.

In a prior segment, Geoff Bennet from PBS News suggested that the impeachment inquiry into Biden might turn out to be “meritless” for Republicans. However, he highlighted the potential risk for the White House, where the inquiry could become a distracting factor.

During his Capitol Hill press conference, Hunter Biden, who had defied a congressional subpoena, asserted that his father was not financially involved in his business. He refuted any claims of evidence supporting financial involvement, stating that it did not happen. Hunter also addressed the GOP’s criticism of his recovery from drug addiction, accusing them of attempting to embarrass his father, who dedicated his life to public service.

Ignoring several questions from the press after his address, Hunter declared, “For six years I have been a target of the unrelenting Trump attack team. ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well, here’s my answer. I am here.” The complex situation presents challenges for the White House as they navigate the potential distractions and public perceptions surrounding Hunter Biden’s public statements.
