- South Carolina Democrat Senate candidate Krystle Matthews, who is running against Sen. Tim Scott, is the latest public figure to be caught in a Project Veritas sting.
- Matthews was recorded making a number of racist remarks, including saying “you gotta treat them [white people] like sh*t, like I mean, that’s the only way they’ll respect you.”
- In another secret recording, Matthews said she wanted drug money for her campaign: “I don’t care about no dope money, give me that dope boy money,” she could be heard saying. “Where the duffle bag boys?”
- Leading Democrats in South Carolina have called for Matthews to pull out of the race.
