Southern California 80 Degrees With Groovy Waves

The temperatures in Southern California during the winter storm that has pummeled the U.S. east of the Rockies has been in the 60 throughout the past several day with some parts forecasted to reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit on Christmas Day.

  • On Christmas Eve, surfers at Los Angeles County’s Manhattan Beach were riding chest-to-head-high waves barefoot in 57 degree Fahrenheit water.
  • The Rocky Mountains are helping to isolate Southern California from the cold air blanketing the east.
  • The weather from essential Los Angeles to San Diego is forecast to end later in the week, giving way to rain and cooler temperatures.
