Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) drew attention for being the sole member to vote “present” on a resolution condemning the rapes and sexual assaults committed by Hamas terrorists during an attack on Israel.

The resolution, introduced by Reps. Lois Frankel (D-FL), Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), Kathy Manning (D-NC), and Jen Kiggans (R-VA), passed with overwhelming support, 418-0-1.

Tlaib’s vote stood out as she was the only member to abstain, with all other voting members supporting the resolution.

Notably, other members of the Squad voted in favor, except for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who did not vote along with 11 other members.

The resolution unequivocally condemns all forms of rape and sexual violence as weapons of war, specifically addressing acts committed by Hamas terrorists on and since October 7th.

It calls on all nations to criminalize such acts and hold perpetrators accountable, regardless of whether they are state or non-state armed groups.
