The horror mastermind Stephen King is once again stirring up controversy, and this time, he’s taking on Ohio Republican Representative Jim Jordan for his stance on gun control. As you may remember, Jordan was one of the many heartless politicians who failed to support the Protecting Our Kids Act, a gun law reform package that passed in the House of Representatives last year.
For those of you who need a refresher, the Protecting Our Kids Act passed by a vote of 223 to 204 in June of 2022, just weeks after a heinous mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas claimed the lives of 19 innocent children and 2 adults. Despite this tragedy, Jordan refused to support the much-needed gun law reforms, leaving King and countless others wondering where his priorities lie.
Now, we understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that Jordan’s lack of action could’ve saved countless lives. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Jordan has failed to take action when it comes to gun control. In fact, he has a track record of voting against common-sense gun reform measures, including expanded background checks and bans on assault weapons.
It’s no secret that Stephen King is passionate about politics and isn’t afraid to voice his opinions on the matter. Given the senseless violence that continues to plague our nation, it’s clear that King’s latest target is long overdue for some serious scrutiny. Whether Jordan likes it or not, we need legislators who are willing to put the safety and well-being of our citizens first, and that starts with supporting gun control measures.
It’s worth noting that in addition to his lack of support for gun law reforms, Jordan has also been accused of turning a blind eye to sexual assault allegations against a former Ohio State University doctor. This, combined with his disdain for common-sense gun reform, raises some serious alarms about where his priorities truly lie. Needless to say, we’ll be keeping a close eye on Jordan and his actions moving forward.
All in all, it’s clear that Stephen King isn’t mincing his words when it comes to Jim Jordan and his lack of action on gun control. With lives on the line, it’s time for our elected officials to step up and take action.
