In a new memo, former President Donald Trump’s campaign managers, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, have declared President Joe Biden to be the real “threat to our Democracy.”

The email, sent out on Tuesday, mostly brushed off the approaching Republican nominating contests and framed the 2024 race as a matchup between Trump and Biden.

Wiles and LaCivita warned that “Joe Biden and his allies are a real and compelling threat to our Democracy,” and declared that they are “waging a war against it” in a way that has never been seen before in American history. This dramatic accusation effectively flips the script on the attack commonly used by Biden and his campaign, which posits Trump as a threat to democracy.

Biden had previously called Trump “the greatest threat” to American democracy in a campaign reception in Bethesda, Maryland. The newly released memo from Trump’s campaign managers went further, stating that if Biden and his allies win, “we lose everything.”

Biden’s campaign manager, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, had previously accused Trump of posing a dire threat to democracy in 2020 and claimed that the threat had only grown since then. She stated that the fate of American democracy depended on the results of the election and accused Trump of running a campaign based on “revenge and retribution” that comes “at the expense of Americans’ freedoms.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Biden’s campaign for comment but received no response.
