Former President Trump is reportedly considering adding Paul Manafort,  one of his campaign managers in his winning 2016 presidential campaign, to his 2024 reelection effort.

Manafort was among the first targets in the so-called Trump-Russia collusion probe and was eventually convicted of bank fraud and federal tax evasion, then sentenced to 7-1/2-year prison term.

Trump, pardoned Manafort, a long-time Republican operative, in 2020.

Manafort is expected to join the 2024 campaign as an adviser, according to The Washington Post, citing four people familiar with the talks. His role would reportedly be centered on fundraising and the Republican convention in Milwaukee in July.
