US Air Force Base On Lockdown After Active Shooter Alert

Leadership at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana reported an active shooter situation on Thursday via a social media post.

The base initiated a lockdown around 10:30 a.m. local time, urging individuals to evacuate the area. No specific details were provided regarding the nature of the potential threat.

“I have spoken with base leadership about reports of an active shooter at Malmstrom Air Force Base and will continue to track this developing situation closely,” stated Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) on social media.

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) also addressed the situation on social media, stating, “My staff and I are closely monitoring the active shooter alert and lockdown at Malmstrom AFB and stand ready to assist local authorities in any way possible.”

Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) echoed similar sentiments, sharing on social media, “My staff and I are closely monitoring the active shooter development at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Praying for the safety of those on base and the law enforcement quickly responding to this situation.”
