President Biden had a moment of confusion Monday before King Abdullah II of Jordan commenced his address. The President was witnessed shifting his position multiple times, seemingly uncertain of the appropriate spot to stand while the King prepared to speak.

“Your majesty, over to you,” stated President Biden, 81, as he passed the floor to King Abdullah after issuing a warm welcome on behalf of the United States.

In the moments that followed, President Biden appeared to be searching for a predetermined marker on the floor that would guide him to his standing position. He hesitated, changing his stance once or twice before determining to stand to King Abdullah’s left, just in front of the Jordanian flag.

This minor show of indecision from the President seemed to briefly distract King Abdullah, who glanced over unexpectedly to find Biden at a different spot than anticipated.
