• A so-called “shield law” that will turn Washington into a sanctuary state for abortions and gender-altering surgeries including for minors passed out of the state Senate on Monday and is expected to be signed into law by Democrat Governor Jay Inslee.
• When signed it will go into effect immediately because the bill contains an emergency clause.
• HB 1469 protects providers and patients in Washington from out-of-state lawsuits for providing abortions and gender-altering surgeries by prohibiting out-of-state subpoenas and criminal investigations seeking information related to the treatments and procedures.
