Approximately 3,000 teachers belonging to the Oakland Education Association in California are currently on strike as they work to finalize a contract negotiation with the Oakland Unified School District.
The union alleges that the district has not engaged in negotiations in good faith and has authorized an open-ended strike until further notice.
“Educators will be on the picket line tomorrow, on strike for our students & for Oakland schools. Join us on the picket line. We will continue to negotiate in good faith & hope the district does the same,” the Oakland Education Association tweeted.
