Forte, who was the favorite to win the Kentucky Derby, was scratched following an examination by a veteranarian from the state racing commission.
Forte was a 9-to-2 favorite and reportedly attracted 16% of the win pool.
The horse had stumbled on a Thursday training run, but appeared to be fine on Friday.
