Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt has defended his decision to defund the state’s PBS station, alleging that the taxpayer-funded outlet has been indoctrinating and over-sexualizing young children with its LGBTQ content.

Stitt doubled down on his position Monday after vetoing a bill last month that would have continued funding for Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA), the statewide PBS station, until 2026.

During an interview with Fox News, Stitt argued that OETA is an outdated system and questioned why taxpayer dollars are being used to compete with or support the private sector in running television stations.
