Border Patrol Agent Rescues Baby, Toddler Abandoned By Smugglers

Rescue reported occurred Thursday in Arizona

  • Agent was told about abandon children by group of migrants detained at the Lukeville Port of Entry.
  • Babies found near the Organ Pipe National Monument, Customs and Border Protection told local TV station.
  • Agent found 18-month-old crying, 4-month-old face down and unresponsive.
  • Agent revived the younger child as they awaited assistance.
  • “Smugglers left two young children – an infant and a toddler – in the Sonoran Desert to die,” said a Tucson Sector Border Patrol chief.
