Chicago businesses have been told by the city’s police department that they should purchase shatterproof glass.
The police recommended a specific type of glass from a company called Riot Glass. The product is installed over the existing glass.
That advice to business owners in Humboldt Park and Wicker Park follows a series of burglaries in which thieves broke the stores’ glass fronts.
