• Some of the most unlikely polling of the midterm season is coming out of Oklahoma, where Gov. Kevin Stitt, a conservative Republican, is trailing Democrat opponent Joy Hofmeister in recent polls.
• If Hofmeister wins, she would be the first Democrat to be governor of Oklahoma in more than a decade.
• Hofmeister, the state superintendent of education, recently switched political parties in order to challenge Stitt for the governor’s office. Hofmeister assumed her office as a Republican in 2014.
