  • The COVID-19 pandemic has officially ended, as declared by President Joe Biden on May 11. However, vaccine mandates implemented by colleges and universities are still in effect.
  • A new bill introduced by Virginia Congressman Rep. Bob Good aims to cut federal funding for institutions of higher education that require COVID-19 vaccinations, even though the pandemic has been declared over.
  • Despite the declaration that the pandemic has concluded, nearly 100 colleges and universities have maintained COVID-19 vaccination requirements for the 2023-2024 academic year. Rep. Bob Good, a Republican from Virginia, is the sponsor of the proposed legislation, known as the “No Vaccine Mandates in Higher Education Act.” This bill seeks to withhold federal funds from colleges and universities that enforce COVID-19 vaccine mandates for students or staff.
