Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Monday shared a video of a Catholic nun calling President Joe Biden “evil,” applauding her for “sharing the truth.”
Abbott, a Republican who has served as Texas governor since 2015, has in recent years become an outspoken critic of Biden and his presidency.
The two leaders have particularly clashed on border security, with Abbott echoing the sentiments of many Republicans, calling recent surges in migrant crossings over the U.S.-Mexico border an “invasion” and lambasted Biden’s policies surrounding it.
On Monday, Abbott took the feud a step further when he shared a clip of a Catholic nun, Mother Miriam, in which she called Biden “evil,” while supporting the reelection of former President Donald Trump in November.
She also backed initiatives to bar non-citizens from voting in U.S. elections, a talking point Abbott intensified amid debates surrounding border security.
In a post to X, formerly Twitter, Abbott called the nun’s message “the truth.”
