  • A gun-wielding woman holding a Walmart employee hostage was shot dead by Mississippi police officers after a tense standoff.
  • 21-year-old Corlunda McGinister was shot and killed by police after taking a Walmart worker hostage and pleading for someone to send a local news anchor to the location.
  • “It’s devastating for all parties involved — the officers, everybody that was involved in this situation,” Richland Police Chief Nick McLendon said.
