In First Interview Since Assault Conviction, Actor Johnathan Majors Still Maintains Innocence

Actor Jonathan Majors, in his first interview since being found guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, denied any guilt Monday in the incident.

The “Lovecraft Country” and “Da 5 Bloods” actor made the comments in a sit-down on “Good Morning America” in which he appeared to dab away tears.

Majors revealed that he was “shocked and afraid” upon hearing the jury’s decision in December about the incident with then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

“How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?'” Majors said he asked himself after hearing the verdict.

Majors continued to argue that he did not physically harm Jabbari, who suffered a fractured finger, bruising and a cut behind her ear during an altercation over Majors’ phone in early 2023.

The actor, who was dropped from his Marvel Studios role after his conviction, expressed belief that he would work in Hollywood again and plans to appeal the case. However, he could face up to a year in prison when he is sentenced on Feb. 6.
