Iranian Who Inspired ‘The Terminal’ Dies In Paris Airport Terminal

  • Merhan Karimi Nasseri, the Iranian man who inspired the Steven Spielberg oil “The Terminal,” died Saturday in Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport.
  • Nasseri lived in the Paris airport for 18 years, from 1988 to 2006, first in legal limbo because he lacked residency papers and later by apparent choice.
  • Nasseri died after a heart attack; police and medical teams treated him but were not able to save him.
