Kellyanne Conway, a top Washington pollster and Republican power broker aligned with Donald Trump, is now getting paid to advocate on Capitol Hill for TikTok – the short-form, social media app with connections to China.

A powerful House committee last week voted unanimously to prevent the app from being download in the U.S. to smart phones. And the full House is expected in the coming days or weeks to vote in favor of the measure.

The Biden White also has signaled its support to ban the app.

Conway, who helped Donald Trump get elected, then became as senior Trump White House adviser, is being paid by the conservative Club for Growth, as first reported by Politico.

She has had at least 10 meetings with lawmakers in recent months about the app, according to the Politico report.

Billionaire investor and Club for Growth donor Jeff Yass holds a 15% stake in TikTok’s parent company, Beijing-based ByteDance.

U.S. lawmaker and others are concerns about ByteDance sharing personal user data with the Chinese Communist Party.
