Huntington Beach in Southern California is a laid-back beach town but it’s also a stronghold for people who espouse the ideology of former GOP president Donald Trump, who will likely be the Republican Party”s 2024 presidential nominee.
The city, much like, the rest of the state’s Orange County, has always been conservative.
But lately, the oceanside town has become increasingly aligned against the values of the other cities and residents in the liberal-leaning state.
The City Council in the past year alone has championed numerous MAGA priorities – including barring the Pride flag from flying on city property, banned mask and vaccine mandates, established a panel to review children’s library books for sexual content, and condemned President Biden’s immigration policies.
