President Biden and first lady Jill Biden will be celebrating the start of the new year in the Virgin Islands.

They will be departing the United States amidst an ongoing, seemingly never-ending migrant crisis and a low voter-approval rating amid the president’s 2024 reelection bid.

This is the second time in two years that the Bidens will be taking a holiday trip to St. Croix, where they are expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon.

Last year, Biden enjoyed a tropical vacation in St. Croix while a winter storm killed scores of people in the United States.

While the White House has announced the president’s departure, details of the trip’s length and accommodation remain a mystery.

Biden and his family stayed at a multimillion-dollar beachfront villa donated by wealthy benefactors Bill and Connie Neville last year.
