Winter storms this weekend battered both U.S. coasts, causing hazardous travel conditions and power outages.

Storm warnings and watches are in place throughout the Northeast, with the National Weather Service forecasting up to a foot of snow in parts of New England, alongside pockets of rain and freezing rain in the central Appalachian region.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul says two-thirds of the state will get 8 inches of snow or more. However, New York City got less than inch.

Flood warnings are already being issues as a result of the heavy rain and snow.

In the West, a winter storm warning is in effect, with up to 20 inches of snow expected in the mountains around Lake Tahoe and winds gusting up to 100mph over ridgetops. California’s Highway Patrol has also encouraged drivers to watch out for spinouts and collisions.

The East Coast storm is expected to continue throughout Sunday and another, perhaps more powerful one is expected to arrive midweek.
