- Oprah Winfrey, an actress and TV celebrity, is also a big Democrat candidate donor.
- The America-born Californian Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is openly interested in politics and being on the world stage.
- A major Democratic donor who is close to Newsom said, “Meghan is definitely a long-shot but in the craziness that is US politics these days it’s not an impossibility. Crazier things have happened,” according to the Daily Mail.
