• On Monday, authorities reported that a 13-year-old girl from Texas, who had been missing, was discovered locked in an outbuilding near a residence in North Carolina.
• According to Sheriff Richie Simmons, the girl was enticed to leave her home by a 34-year-old man who communicated with her through social media. The man picked her up in his vehicle, and video cameras near the girl’s house recorded a vehicle registered to an address in Davidson County.
• The Texas FBI Violent Crimes Task Force agent contacted the sheriff’s office in Davidson County, and within ten minutes, investigators located the residence. They conducted a traffic stop on the owner, who was leaving the property, and found that the girl was locked in an outbuilding on the property in Lexington.
