Musk Meets Cook, Says Apple Never Planned To Remove Twitter App

New Twitter owner Elon Musk says he went Wednesday to Apple’s headquarters and met with CEO Tim Cook over concerns he was going to remove the Twitter app from the Apple app store.

  • The meeting purportedly deescalated the situation that sent Musk into a tweet storm earlier this week accusing Apple of threatening to pull the Twitter app from the App Store.
  • “Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store,” Musk tweeted.
  • The Apple App Store is on the company’s extremely popular iPhone, so the Twitter app being dropped would be a major setback for growth of the short-form social media app.
