- National Guard service members have been sent to New York City’s overwhelmed homeless shelters, as migrants pour into the city.
- The Randall’s Island relief center that was built to assist approximately 500 migrants remains largely empty, while almost 16,000 others have further overloaded NYC’s shelter system.
- With more migrant arrivals, the Department of Homeless Services reported 62,174 people are living in shelters this month, a new occupancy record.
