Ohio Governor Makes Endorsement In Senate Race

The GOP's focus on the makeup of state supreme courts escalated this week after a series of legal setbacks frustrated the party's effort to redraw congressional maps in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. That prompted some leading Republicans to press the party to pay more attention to elections in November in which some supreme court justices will face voters.(AP Photo/Paul Vernon, File)

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine have endorsed State Senator Matt Dolan’s (R-Chagrin Falls) bid for U.S. Senate.

“Today, Fran and I are endorsing Matt Dolan to be the Republican nominee in the race for the United States Senate. We believe this proven conservative is the strongest candidate to beat Sherrod Brown in the fall,” the DeWines said in a statement. “Matt’s service, experience, and integrity will make him the most effective voice for Ohio’s interests on the national stage. He cares deeply about the future of our state and nation. He is determined to protect America here at home and abroad, and he knows that nothing is more important to our security than a strong national defense.”
