Secret Service Investigating Actor John Schneider Over Tweet Criticizing Biden

The Secret Service has opened an investigation into former “Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider after he posted a tweet on X, calling for President Joe Biden and his son Hunter to be “publicly hung.” Schneider, a longtime critic of the president, accused them of being guilty of treason. However, the tweet was quickly deleted.

Schneider’s tweet was in response to one from Biden’s verified X account, warning of the dangers of another Donald Trump term in the White House. In his reply, Schneider wrote, “Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider.”

Despite the investigation, Schneider denied any threat towards Biden, stating that he didn’t call for an act of violence or threaten a U.S. president. He also accused the media of misinterpreting his post and urged people to read his actual post before believing the allegations. However, a law enforcement insider said that due to intent, Schneider’s tweet falls under the definition of a threat.

As the news of Schneider’s tweet started spreading, Fox canceled his press appearances for promoting The Masked Singer. Furthermore, the actor exited the show on the night his tweet went viral, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The user behind the tweet is John Schneider, a former “Dukes of Hazzard” star. Schneider has been an outspoken critic of President Joe Biden, and his tweet calling for the president and his son to be “publicly hung” is not the first time he has made extreme statements against Democrats.

The Secret Service’s investigation into Schneider’s tweet highlights the severity of his remarks. Although Schneider denies any intention of threatening Biden, his language is alarming and has created a significant controversy.
