Texas Also Eyes Delaware Landings

Texas: 'Start Feeling The Pain'

Texas Republican Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick told Fox News he is confident that a recently passed Texas state law allowing law enforcement officials to arrest individuals accused of entering the state illegally will not only stand up in court but also in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Patrick claims that the proposed law is in line with Article I Section X of the United States Constitution, which prohibits the imposition of state duties without Congressional approval, keep troops or warships in times of peace, and allows for the detention of suspected illegal immigrants during emergencies.

He added that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has started flying illegal migrants into Chicago, as a response to Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson’s recent policy to seize buses carrying migrants.

Patrick added that he would like to see Abbott’s bussing program expanded to Delaware, citing Biden’s residences there that are located in Greenville and Rehoboth Beach.

Patrick criticized the Biden administration’s inaction and called Karine Jean-Pierre, spokeswoman for the administration, a liar during an interview with Fox News.

Patrick blamed the Biden administration for the surge in illegal immigrants across the borders because they refuse to enforce the law, leading to terrorists entering the country, Americans being killed by fentanyl, and women being raped. The Lieutenant Governor further accused President Biden of being “cold-hearted” and allowing an invasion by opening the borders to millions of people.

According to Patrick, Texas lawmakers believe they have constitutional standing under Article I Section X to implement the suspected illegal immigrant detention law and keep their citizens secure. The state of Texas has been overwhelmed with illegal immigrants, recording over eight million reported illegal crossers, a figure that could make a 13th state if they were all in the same place.

Abbott has defended the decision to fly illegal migrants to Chicago, citing his obligation to protect Texans from the surge in illegal immigration.
