Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat, has been under scrutiny for his recent break from the party’s stances on major issues. In response, Fetterman has accused fellow Democrats of “rooting” for him to die of another blood clot, insinuating that they are upset with his recent statements and positions.

In an interview with The New York Times, Fetterman made the shocking allegations regarding the wishes of his party members. The senator’s recent break from the party has been on display in his support of Israel and his condemnation of terrorist group Hamas.

Despite being a progressive champion, Fetterman declared his support for any necessary military aid to Israel in light of terrorist attacks that killed over 1,400 people. He firmly believes in the United States’ moral obligation to support its ally.

Many of Fetterman’s supporters have accused him of betrayal and being “silent on genocide,” according to NBC News. This comes as a surprise to those who believed the senator would maintain a more radical position aligned with his base. Others are calling on Fetterman to resign over his vocal support of Israel and his position on Hamas.

In addition to his recent break from party lines, Fetterman has also openly called for the resignation of Senator Bob Menendez (D-NY). Fetterman believes Menendez’s actions are “much more sinister and serious” than those of Congressman George Santos (R-NY), who was recently expelled from Congress. Fetterman made the call during his appearance on ABC’s “The View.”

Fetterman continues to stand by his recent statements, despite pushback from his base and fellow Democrats. He maintains his belief in supporting Israel in the face of terrorism and is committed to calling out his colleagues when necessary.
