An 18-year-old Wisconsin man has been charged for his alleged involvement in stealing approximately $600,000 from approximately 1,600 DraftKings accounts.

Joseph Garrison, a resident of Madison, is facing charges related to hacking, fraud, and identity theft. Two of the charges carry potential penalties of up to 20 years in prison.

During the investigation, law enforcement discovered conversations on Garrison’s phone discussing methods to hack sportsbook accounts. The Justice Department reports that one of these conversations included Garrison boasting about his proficiency in this activity.
