US Solider Detained In Russia

A U.S. soldier has was detained in Russia, a U.S. Army said Monday

The solider had been stationed in South Korea and was detained Thursday while traveled to Russia on his own, not on official business, according to U.S. officials.

The soldier is accused of stealing from a woman, they also said.

The soldier was detained on May. 2, U.S. Army spokesperson Cynthia O. Smith, said in a statement.

The yet-to-be-identified soldier was apprehended in Vladivostok, Russia “on charges of criminal misconduct.”

Given the sensitivity of this matter, we are unable to provide additional details at this time,” the military also said.
